The park Extends 970 km across the majestic hills of southeast Rwanda, Nyungwe Forest National Park is the largest block of montane forest in East or Central Africa, and one of the most ancient, dating back to before the last Ice Age. It is located in Southern Rwanda bordering Burundi.

Species to see in Nyungwe forest national park. A uniquely rich center of floral diversity, the forest has more than 200 different types of trees and a myriad of flowering plants including the other-worldly giant lobelia and a host of colorful orchids.

Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda through Kigali International Airport
This particular journey starts in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. Start your morning early with a 6-hour drive to Nyungwe forest national park.

Tourists prefer to take a stopover at the ethnographic museum in Huye where they can learn about the history and culture of Rwanda through time.

You will arrive at Nyungwe forest park in the evening and check into your lodge of preference for dinner and overnight. (FB).

Day 2: Go for Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park.
Wake up early in the morning and leave your lodge. Your trail to experience the Chimpanzee trekking will be chosen by your tour guide.

On your trial, you will be able to see several creatures such as; the black and white Colobus monkey, Vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and many other mammals as well as butterflies and birds within the forest.

When you finally allocate one of the Chimpanzee families, you will observe their behavior in their natural habitat. After the Chimpanzee trekking, take on a canopy walk or return to your lodge and relax.
